42 Days

It's been 42 days since my last post.

In 42 days, I have been a wife and mother everyday. I have loved, given hugs and kisses, advice and praise. I've said "thank you" and "I'm sorry". I have made breakfast, lunch and dinners. I have worked and been tired and exhausted but happy and satisfied. My baby girl turned 4 years old, my baby boy has been trying to form words so badly and you can tell it is completely frustrating to him that he cannot tell mommy and daddy what it is that he wants.

Perhaps the most life changing and deeply devastating thing that happened in these 42 days was the death of my father-in-law, Bill Hamilton.

Bill passed away early in the morning of May 12. It was not expected, it was not likely, it was shocking. He was a great father to my husband and a great Papa to my children. It is still fresh everyday and I sometimes actually forget that I will never see him again on this earth. I know that he is healed of all of his sickness, all of his pain and his fears. He was set free and is living in his perfect home with our God. We will miss him everyday.

We continue to hold tight to our faith and assurance of his salvation. We know that he was worthy of Christ' blood and because of his faith in Him while on this earth, he is with Him now in Heaven.

Happy Easter!

We took the kids downtown after church to try and get some good pics, it was so much fun, we had a great time with them. Thank the Lord for the warmer weather, we were all loving it!

One of my favorite's, I know that seems cruel, but all three of those faces are so stinkin cute!

Cowgirl Diva

Here's my little "cowgirl diva". She walked out of her room after dressing herself and struck this pose with no direction from me whatsoever. I happened to have the camera handy. Somedays, I feel as though she is pushing 18 and she turns 4 next month, ha!

For Nathan

"There's so much craziness surrounding me

There's so much going on, it gets hard to breathe
When all my faith is gone, you bring it back to me
You make it real for me
When I'm not sure of my priorities
When I've lost sight of where I'm meant to be
Like holy water washing over me, you make it real for me
And I'm running to you baby, you are the only one who saved me
That's why I've been missing you lately, cause you make it real for me
Everybody's talking in words I don't understand
You've got to be the only one who knows just who I am
The only place I that I want to be is right back home with you
You always give me somewhere I can run, you make it real for me."

For Christine

My dear Christine, this one's for you since I am fairly certain you are the only one still checking in on my blogging!

So, today and yesterday, I had to go into work. My sister watched Hailee for a couple of hours while Jackson took his nap after church today, so that Nathan could finish his school work in some peace and quiet. Leslie (sister) sent me this text message. "Hailee just asked, what if we snakes come out of our noses?" I laughed out loud at work when I read it. Because those kinds of questions are ones that come out of her mouth so often now. She's so inquisitive, she loves her brother and it is so beautiful to me to see how much she wants to help him and protect him and love on him.
And Jackson, my sweet boy, he's getting bigger everyday and walking now, finally! He throws an absolute fit if anyone in the family has their plate of food made before I get his together for him first, the boy is a bottomless pit!

Nathan is doing so well, he is well into his Doctorate program now, only a year to go plus his thesis.

We are all ready for Spring! Young kids and indoors is getting to be a very tiring mix.

Only 21 1/2 more weeks until our family vacation to Colorado, can you tell I am ready? :)
