Daddy's Girl

I was taking Hailee and Jackson to Rhonda's this morning before heading to work. Hailee was in the back seat, we were listening to music and talking about the day ahead. She asked, "Mommy, does Daddy have to go to work today?" I said, "yes, honey, he does." She said, "It's not Saturday?" I said, "No, it's Friday. Tomorrow is Saturday and Daddy will be home with us tomorrow and Sunday." She let out a big sigh and said, "oh, okay." I said, "you love your daddy, don't you Hailee?" She said, "yes, I do love Daddy, he's a good man." I smiled a big grin and said, "yes, he is a very good man and a good daddy."

I just thought that must be one of the greatest compliments you could ever get as a parent, ecspecially from a two year old! I am so blessed to have two wonderful kids and a good man in my life. Maybe someday, Jackson will say that about his Momma. I've heard boys love their Momma's. :)

A picture to go along with the story...

Love this story! Funny how their compliments are usually the best, because we know they don't lie or exaggerate.

That is adorable! She's so great. I know I'm always surprised when I'm around her and Scott's not there and she notices that something/someone is missing. When I picked her up for mom's retirement party, she goes "where's Uncle?" and when I told her he couldn't come she said "I'll see him later." It was cute. I love how observant she is.
